Project Description

Townhouse Hamburg – Langenhorn

After decades of problematic renovations, walls were removed and the floorplan modified to return the home to its original vintage splendor. The entire house received new wood lattice windows. On the garden side of the house, these new windows were extended to the floor. An elevated wood terrace was added to open up the house to the garden and lend it an abundance of additional height and space.

The reworking of the kitchen, eating and living area gave the floorplan necessary clarity and was the basis for the new focal point, an open fireplace between the kitchen and living room.

The dark floorboards created a contrast to the white wood elements of the staircase and doors creating some welcome energy in the rooms that is refined by the finest window and door handles.
